The 2021 European Meteorological Society Conference – European Conference for Applied Meteorology and Climatology – will take place from 6 to 10 September 2021 as an online event. The focus of this year’s edition will be “Weather and climate research and services for the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals: a decade left for action”. The EMS 2021 Conference aims to be a platform to show and debate synergies and co-benefits of a coherent implementation of climate action and sustainable development objectives across all levels and sectors. More specifically, the following SDGs provide domains wherein weather and climate research and services may contribute to succeeding in their accomplishment.
RECEIPT researcher Karin van der Wiel will be presenting her work during an online session on Thursday 9 September at 14:00 CEST. In the session “Wind droughts and winter cold threaten Europe’s future energy security“, Karin will be addressing the influence of weather on the energy transition.
